Nintendo’s latest game for mobile devices, Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp, was revealed in a special Nintendo Direct last month with a release window of late November. The official worldwide release date has now been confirmed for November 22nd, just a couple days away.
Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp is free to download and play on both iOS and Android devices. The game was released in Australia almost as soon as the reveal was made, so we already know a lot of gameplay details. As the player, you are the manager of a campground, which you can customize with furniture and amenities. There are several other areas of the map to visit for fishing, catching bugs, collecting fruit, and more.
Although Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp is free to play, the game offers microtransactions that charge you real money for “Leaf Tickets,” which can purchase exclusive items and speed up the build time for new furniture or amenities on your campground. The Leaf Tickets can also be earned through gameplay without buying them. Nintendo has also confirmed there will be seasonal events throughout the year with special goals and items offered for a limited time.
The mobile Animal Crossing title was originally set to release much earlier than November but was delayed for other Nintendo app games like Super Mario Run and Fire Emblem Heroes. Despite the delay, fans are happy to have some new content from one of Nintendo’s biggest IP’s. The last main series installment was Animal Crossing: New Leaf in 2012, which received the sizable Welcome amiibo update this time last year.
Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp hits iOS and Android devices November 22nd.
