Nicalis’s The Binding of Isaac: Afterbirth+ has been added to the list of Nintendo Switch launch titles. It will hit shelves on March 3rd alongside the hybrid gaming console.
The rougelike game includes Rebirth, Afterbirth and Afterbirth+ and will cost $40 at launch. It will be available in retail form and digitally on the Nintendo eShop. You can already pre-order it from Amazon and GameStop.
So far, only North America is officially getting The Binding of Isaac: Afterbirth+ on the Switch, but publisher Nicalis is lobbying for a European version too.
The game’s Steam description says, “Following Isaac on his journey players will find bizarre treasures that change Isaac’s form giving him super human abilities and enabling him to fight off droves of mysterious creatures, discover secrets and fight his way to safety.”
On the game’s blog, Nicalis founder Tyrone Rodriguez teased the first few thousand copies of Afterbirth+ will come with “something special,” but he didn’t give any specifics.
Regarding the Switch version news, Rodriguez stated, “It means that there is more than just The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild on launch.”
To be fair, there were already more games than just Breath of the Wild launching with the Nintendo Switch. Check out the full list below of Switch games coming March 3rd.
- 1-2-Switch
- The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
- The Binding of Isaac: Afterbirth+
- Just Dance 2017
- Skylanders: Imaginators
- Super Bomberman R
Like others, you might think that list is pretty short. We’re all hoping another handful of launch titles are revealed before March, but don’t get your hopes too high.
