Colossal Order is giving players a new expansion for city-building simulator Cities: Skylines next month. The DLC will let you clean up your city’s act and reduce all that virtual pollution you’ve been causing. No more yucky river waste! Green Cities costs $13 and releases on October 19th.
Here’s the description of the DLC from the YouTube video description:
“The expansion adds 350 new assets to the core game, adding a massive selection of new visual options, complete with eco-friendly buildings, organic shops, electric vehicles, and new services designed to make pollution a quaint notion of the past. Players can create more diversified cities, or go completely green as the urban population grows. New in-game services and buildings arrive alongside revisions to noise and environmental pollution, making the skies safer for Chirper at last.”
The upcoming DLC will add dozens of earth-friendly options, like skyscrapers with gardens on top, recycling centers, clean energy sources, electric cars, and new parks. More details from the expansion’s Steam page also reveals “new specialized options for all city zones, plus leveled-up specializations for the first time,” as well as “3 new scenarios, 4 new policy options, and a new Monument to make your friends Green with envy.” Oh, and there’s a new hat for Chirper.
Green Cities is the fifth major expansion for Cities: Skylines, along with the After Dark, Snowfall, Natural Disasters, and Mass Transit DLC’s. Paid expansions give players reasons to return to a game that’s now more than a couple years old, and, of course, gives the studios behind the game that continued cash flow.
Cities: Skyline – Green Cities launches October 19th for Windows PC, Mac, and Linux.
