Play Dishonored 2’s First Three Missions in a Free Trial Coming This Week

Bethesda announced today that Dishonored 2 will get a trial later this week. In the trial, players will be able to take on the first portion of the game for free.

The trial goes live this Thursday, April 6th, for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Players will have full access to Dishonored 2’s first three missions as either playable character, Empress Emily Kaldwin or the Royal Protector, Corvo Attano.

It’s strange to see a demo for a game that’s been out for months, but it’s an increasingly popular strategy for developers to promote older titles that haven’t sold as well. Dishonored 2 came out in November 2016 on the heels of Titanfall 2Civilization VI, and Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, and was looked over by many a preoccupied gamer.

Bethesda didn’t specify how long the trial would be available or if the missions would be replayable in trial form. However, the announcement noted, “Players that decide to upgrade to the full game during or after the free trial will keep all of the saves made during the trial.” So no matter where you are in the trial, you can choose to upgrade to the full game and pick up the campaign right where you left off.

Dishonored 2 received a score of 7/10 on Steam, 8/10 from GameSpot, and 93/100 from PC Gamer. Definitely good enough ratings to warrant checking out a demo.

The Dishonored 2 free trial can be downloaded from the game’s store page on the PSN Store, Xbox Marketplace, and Steam starting April 6th.

Mischa grew up with video games and still has a deep love for many - especially fun, colorful RPGs. Some of her favorites include Pokémon, Animal Crossing, Pikmin, Fantasy Life, Kingdom Hearts, Skyrim, Civilization V, and Stardew Valley. She loves nights in with her boyfriend cooking Mexican food, watching Studio Ghibli movies, and going head-to-head in their favorite games. Mischa might not beat you in Super Smash Bros, but she owns a replica of Arwen’s sword and Hermione’s wand, so... don’t rub it in too much.
