EA has published a blog teasing their plans for Gamescom next month however, the company hasn’t gone into too much detail just yet. As a result, most of it’s all still a mystery and uncertain but EA has confirmed a few things at least.
Live Show
EA will be streaming their event live from Gamescom. The company has only mentioned streaming on their own website. There’s no word on whether or not it will be available on Twitch. The special stream will be held on August 21st at 6:30 pm CET / 9:30 am PDT. The stream will feature new gameplay, live matches and a few “surprises”.
In addition to the EA show, the company has invited content creators to their Business Lounge where they will be able to record gameplay and stream the event live from the room. So there should be plenty of gameplay streams from the EA portion of Gamescom.
Hands-on Gameplay
As expected, EA will have a large number of stations at Gamescom. They will have just under 400 gameplay stations for players to test their upcoming games such as Star Wars Battlefront II and Need For Speed Payback. There will also be some stations dedicated to their mobile games. It’s unknown how many stations will be dedicated to them.
Rather unsurprisingly, the company has also confirmed there will be live events throughout Gamescom. These events will range from gameplay deep dives, live music performances, interviews and competitions. EA will be holding the central stage at Gamescom for these events but we currently don’t have a schedule for this. It’s also unknown how much of these events will be livestreamed and where any live feeds would be shown.
Hopefully EA will release another statement closer to the event to provide us with some more detail on their plans for Gamescom.
