The Elder Scrolls Online team has just announced that the recent Homestead update has arrived for consoles.

The free update contains 39 unique houses which are themed around the different races in Tamriel. While each house is themed towards a certain race, there are no purchase restrictions. Anyone can purchase any type of house and decoration in the game. There are over 2000 decoration items in the game which players can purchase from merchants or other players and also craft.

This free update launches with a tutorial quest that provides the player with a free house on completion. Each house in the game is instanced so players can own the same house when playing in the same world. Houses are also shared across a players account allowing players to use the same house for multiple characters.

The developers have confirmed that all houses in the game are secure. Other players will not be able to break into houses and steal items.

Xbox One and PlayStation 4 players can now begin exploring the content in the Homestead update. Elder Scrolls Online PC players received this update earlier this month.
