Friday the 13th Releases Spring Break DLC and Customization Updates

More content has been added to the spooky multiplayer game Friday the 13th. The Spring Break 1984 DLC just released, alongside some welcome updates that improve gameplay.

The $2 Spring Break DLC doesn’t do anything beyond give you some skimpy swim suit options for your counselors, but there are fun additions in the free update that make the DLC more interesting. Male characters have some trunk and mankini options, while the female counselors can pick between one pieces and bikinis. (No mankini for any of the Jasons. Sorry, pals.)

Additions in the patch released with the DLC add some deeper customization options to characters’ appearances and actions, as well as polish up the UI for a better experience. Players can now choose different colors and patterns for clothing items, because you gotta look cute while fleeing from a gruesome murder. There are also eight new emotes and a new emote wheel for better expressing your feelings towards your fellow counselors.

Many bug fixes and small improvements are also included in the update, as well as a list of improvements to Jason. Some things to know before your next match: Jason can now break through doors and windows when attacking, and he can hit counselors through windows. He is also unable to drown counselors in shallow water now.

You can read the full patch notes for information on all the changes, and check out the developer’s notes for an idea of what’s coming to the game down the road. We should see solutions to issues with players disconnecting from matches as well as “more appealing” campsites, hopefully with something to actually do in them.

Friday the 13th is available now on PS4, Xbox One, and PC digitally. A physical release is planned for Friday, October 13th next month.

Mischa McGill

Mischa grew up with video games and still has a deep love for many - especially fun, colorful RPGs. Some of her favorites include Pokémon, Animal Crossing, Pikmin, Fantasy Life, Kingdom Hearts, Skyrim, Civilization V, and Stardew Valley. She loves nights in with her boyfriend cooking Mexican food, watching Studio Ghibli movies, and going head-to-head in their favorite games. Mischa might not beat you in Super Smash Bros, but she owns a replica of Arwen’s sword and Hermione’s wand, so... don’t rub it in too much.
