Publisher Natsume has just announced that a new game is joining the Harvest Moon family. For the first time ever, this game will be released for the Nintendo Switch, PC and PlayStation 4. This marks the series first release on PC and the new Nintendo Switch console. This new game is called Harvest Moon: Light of Hope.
Harvest Moon: Light of Hope begins with the player traveling on a boat in search of a new home. Naturally, things don’t go to plan and the boat sinks in a monsoon. However, the player finds safety in a small harbor town which the storm severely damages. As a result, it’s down to the player to rebuild the town, make new friends, fall in love and save the citizens.
According to GameSpot, Natsume CEO Hiro Maekawa has a few things to say about the game. He states that they set out to create a “SNES-style nostalgic game with deep and meaningful characters and events”.
So it looks as though the developers are taking the game back to the series roots. There is currently no release date for this game but it will be playable on the E3 show floor this year.
