Horizon Zero Dawn is launching its first downloadable expansion with The Frozen Wilds DLC on November 7th, Guerrilla community manager Jeroen Roding announced on the PlayStation Blog.
The above E3 trailer shows glimpses at the beautiful snowy area that comes with the expansion. As far as story details, we don’t have many, but in the video Aloy says she wants “answers” from the mountain in the north. To do so, she will “have to face the beast that guards it.” Ready your weapons.
The Frozen Wilds DLC will add to both the map and the story of Horizon Zero Dawn by giving Aloy the icy area in the north to explore — and plenty of new mechanical beasts to take on. Those who pre-order the expansion through the PlayStation Store will get an exclusive avatar for their purchase.
That’s where the details stop from Guerrilla, but the PlayStation Store sheds a bit more light on the DLC. It will cost $19.99 at full price, but PS Plus members can snag it for $14.99. The store page also gives some more details on the contents of the expansion, though not too many more.
“The Frozen Wilds contains additional content for Horizon Zero Dawn, including new storylines, characters and experiences in a beautiful but unforgiving new area.”
· Uncover a compelling new story.
· Explore a brand new area
· Face new machines.
· Enhanced for PS4 Pro with dynamic 4K gaming, improved graphics and environments, and HDR visuals.
This is the only known DLC for Horizon Zero Dawn at the time, but it’s been a smash hit since its release. Expect Guerrilla to keep adding to this gem, and stay tuned to A9K for the latest.
