Developer Rockstar Games has made an unexpected announcement today. However, it’s certainly one that most gamers will be able to appreciate.
LA Noire is coming to several new platforms this year. The game will be re-released for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and even the Nintendo Switch.
The PS4 and Xbox One versions contain the full game and all the DLC along with updates to enhance the graphics. As a result, the PS4 and Xbox One versions will run at 1080p. While the PS4 Pro and Xbox One X editions will run at 4K resolution.
While the Switch version will include the full game, all DLC and will get Switch exclusive features. Such as gesture-based controls using the Joy-Cons with touch screen controls when the Switch is in the Portable Handheld mode. This will be the first game from Rockstar to get a Switch release. So it’s a pretty big deal for owners of the Nintendo console.
It’s been confirmed that all three console versions of the game will be releasing this year in time for the Holiday season. The re-released version of LA Noire will be launching on November 14th for all three platforms. In addition to this, the company has also revealed that an HTC Vive version is also coming this year.
The original Team Bondi studios which produced LA Noire have been closed so it’s currently uncertain what team is behind this re-released version of the game. Hopefully, this won’t have a negative impact on the development of this version of the game. Considering the fact that LA Noire generally received 9/10 from critics, this re-release will have quite high expectations regarding how it plays compared to the original version.
Rockstar will also be releasing more details on the new versions of LA Noire over the next few weeks. We’ll update you when we learn more.
