A crossover game between the Mario and Rabbids franchises is the weirdest and worst-kept Nintendo secret currently.
After months of rumors and whispers, Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle has a name, artwork, an internal slideshow, and a rating in Brazil. All that’s missing is the official announcement from Nintendo and Ubisoft.
It seems like a bizarre mashup of games, and it is. So bizarre that few believed games journalist and industry insider Laura Kate Dale when she said a Mario/ Rabbids RPG would release for the Switch this fall. Just the other day, the below artwork was leaked by Dale.

Shortly after the artwork leak, Nintendo World Report posted some images from an internal Nintendo slideshow highlighting some of Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle’s features, such as the exploration of four different worlds, turn-based combat, and puzzles. The player will control a character named Tuttorio but won’t have any control over the heroes: Mario, Luigi, Peach, Yoshi, and all their Rabbid counterparts.
Judging from the PR timeline, Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle is set for a September release with reviews going out at the end of August.
While neither company has commented on this game, it has been listed on the Brazilian Ratings Board, showing Ubisoft as the producer. Those who were doubtful about the Mario/ Rabbids crossover before can take this listing as the best confirmation we’ll get until the official announcement.
Like the above linked slideshow says, Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle should be revealed at E3. Despite these leaks, Nintendo and Ubisoft are expected to keep quiet on this one until the big games conference.
