Marvel Heroes Omega is entering Closed Beta

Earlier this month Gazillion Entertainment announced that they’re releasing Marvel Heroes on consoles. The game will be called “Marvel Heroes Omega” and will be available for both PS4 and Xbox One. However, there is currently only a PlayStation 4 reveal trailer currently available.

The console edition of the game features a brand new Prologue mission. This special mission introduces the Avengers where players will discover that Times Square is under attack by Ultron. The players will be introduced to the game and will get a chance to play various characters. After this, players will be able to begin the nine chapter story campaign. Completing the first mission will reward the player with Eternity Splinters which are a form of in-game currency.

While there are a few minor changes to the console version, the biggest addition is local co-op. Players will be able to fight alongside local and online players to complete missions. According to the developer, players will be able to join forces with a second player for local co-op then join a group of online players.

Only 38 heroes will be in the game at launch. This is considerably lower than the 61 heroes currently available for Marvel Heroes on PC. The developer will add more heroes later in the year. In addition to this, there will be no cross-play between the console and PC versions of the game. Unfortunately, there are no plans to allow for character transfers between the PC and console versions either.

While this is bad news for console owners, it’s now possible to register for the console version of the game. Players can register for the console Closed Beta on the official website.

Marvel Heroes Omega will be getting a Spring release however, the developer hasn’t confirmed a release date just yet. We’ll provide you with updates as we learn more.
