The team behind Mass Effect: Andromeda announced earlier this week that the game had just gone gold. EA also announced the PC specifications for the game this week and confirmed that players will need a hefty PC to run it at the recommended specs.
The developers have now revealed that the upcoming space RPG will have a day one patch. This patch has been confirmed to contain “various fixes, balance tweaks” and will polish the game a little bit more. These changes are not in the published version of the game as “certification, physical manufacturing and retail distribution takes time”.
The lead designer, Ian Frazier, stated on Twitter that the team are attempting to finish the day one patch in time for the five day early access which is being given to Origin Access members. Shortly after this, another member of the team tweeted about this also. So the Mass Effect: Andromeda team are set on completing the Day One patch in time for the Early Access players.
The Early Access for Mass Effect: Andromeda provides five days of play before the game is released world wide. This exclusive period is only available for Origin Access members.
It’s also been revealed that the game will take at least 45 GB of space on consoles. It’s possible that it will take up to 60 GB however. This hasn’t been confirmed yet by BioWare or EA. The PC version of the game has been confirmed to take 55 GB of space however.
A multiplayer beta is due to take place over the next few weeks ahead of the launch in March. Mass Effect: Andromeda will be released on March 21st for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Windows PC. EA is expected to announce the dates for the multiplayer beta very soon. We will update you when we learn more.
