The official Total War website now links to a countdown clock instead of the usual home page. The clock seems to be counting down to next Friday which is March 31st.
The background for the clock seems to be a South American jungle with an Ancient Mayan style pyramid. This hasn’t been officially confirmed however so the setting of this unannounced game is still uncertain.
Developer Creative Assembly hasn’t provided any information about what this new game could be. It’s thought that it will be a new Total War game set in a period of history never before included in the previous games. Which could set the game during the time of the Ancient Mayans or Aztecs in South America.
Some users suspect that this countdown is actually for a sequel to Total War: Warhammer. This is due to the fact that the developer has stated in the past that they have plans for a trilogy of Warhammer games.
