Nintendo Switch Adds Eight New eShop Titles Today

The Switch eShop family grows by 8 today.

The Nintendo Switch has enjoyed a successful first week following its March 3rd launch. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is receiving crazy good reviews from all over, and we’re seeing praise for other launch titles as well. Seriously, if you haven’t tried Snipperclips yet, you need to.

Though the group of Switch launch titles was small, Nintendo has promised to add new downloadable titles to the eShop every week.

Today kicks off the steady flow of incoming content with eight new games now available on the Switch eShop. Blaster Master Zero tops the list of new titles. It’s a 16-bit sequel to the Blaster Master series, which started on the NES. The game costs $9.99 and supports up to two players with a co-op mode.

Keeping with the retro theme, six old-school NeoGeo action and fighting games are now available for the Switch: Nam-1975, The King of Fighters ‘98, Waku Waku 7, Metal Slug 3, World Heroes Perfect, and Shock Troopers. They’re $7.99 a pop on the eShop.

The last new Switch title for the week is VOEZ, which you might remember as the first game to be playable only in portable mode. VOEZ is a rhythm game that requires players to touch vertically falling notes to play a song, of which over 100 are available in the game.

Though it isn’t new this week, Nintendo’s press release highlighted the free Snipperclips demo as this week’s featured content. Snipperclips is an action-puzzle game where you have to snip and clip your character into different shapes to solve a world of puzzles.

It doesn’t sound like much, but Snipperclips is incredibly charming and hilarious. My boyfriend and I were dying laughing at this game, snipping and clipping each other’s characters to death. The demo is free, and the full game costs $19.99.

We’ll keep you updated as more titles are added to the Switch’s library. See anything you’re excited about?

Mischa McGill

Mischa grew up with video games and still has a deep love for many - especially fun, colorful RPGs. Some of her favorites include Pokémon, Animal Crossing, Pikmin, Fantasy Life, Kingdom Hearts, Skyrim, Civilization V, and Stardew Valley. She loves nights in with her boyfriend cooking Mexican food, watching Studio Ghibli movies, and going head-to-head in their favorite games. Mischa might not beat you in Super Smash Bros, but she owns a replica of Arwen’s sword and Hermione’s wand, so... don’t rub it in too much.
