Rainbow Six Siege – Operation Blood Orchid operators detailed

The Blood Orchid update for Rainbow Six Siege will be coming slightly later than originally announced. Ubisoft first stated it would be arriving this month but its been pushed back to September 5th instead. To make up for this, Ubisoft has revealed the three new characters coming to the game.

Ying

She’s the first of the two new Hong Kong operators. Ying is from the elite paramilitary special operations unit called the Special Duties Unit (SDU).  She’s an Attacker who wields a Candela that launches blinding flash charges into the air when deployed. She’s also immune to them thanks to the special glasses she wears. They can even be attached to a breachable surface so they burrow through and detonate on the other side.

Lesion

This man is the other half of the SDU. He’s a Defender who uses Gu Mines which are invisible to the naked eye. When stepped on, these mines inject a poison into the enemy which distorts their vision and deals damage over time. However, it’s possible to pull it out which leaves the enemy open to attack but ends the effects sooner. He can have up to seven mines deployed at once but these are acquired as the game progresses. He also receives an alert when one of the mines is triggered.

Ela

Ela is the first new addition to the game and is a member of the Poland counter-terrorism unit GROM. Ela will be a Defender and uses special Grzmot Mines that stick to any surface and detonate when they detect movement. These mines don’t deal damage but they do disorientate and stun enemies. She can even detonate one on herself when she’s downed.

Ela uses a new pistol as a secondary weapon to go with her shotgun/SMG options for her primary.

Full details on the new operators can be found on the Ubisoft blog here.
