Resident Evil: Revelations & Revelations 2 Coming to Nintendo Switch

Following the successful launch of Ultra Street Fighter II, Capcom is ready to bring another couple of their titles to the Nintendo Switch — Resident Evil: Revelations and Revelations 2. And don’t worry, PS4 and Xbox One players will also be able to get in on the fun. Check out the announcement trailer below.

Although Capcom previously said they had no plans to port Resident Evil games for the Switch, today they revealed otherwise on their official blog. Remasters of the 2012 Revelations and its 2015 sequel are Switch-bound and looking better than ever.

Resident Evil: Revelations is launching on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on August 29th, looking better than ever and complete with all originally released DLC for $19.99!” said Capcom. “That’s not all, though: both Resident Evil: Revelations and its sequel, Resident Evil: Revelations 2, will be setting sail for Nintendo Switch in late 2017! At retail across North America you will find these two games as a combo pack dubbed Resident Evil Revelations Collection, which includes one cartridge with Revelations as well as a digital download voucher for Revelations 2 for $39.99. Both games will be available as individual digital downloads at $19.99 each.”

The previously announced PS4 and Xbox One versions of Resident Evil: Revelations will also cost $19.99. Capcom says those versions will feature “a smoother 1920×1080 resolution, an improved framerate, increased environmental detail, and refined creature movement.”

If you’re a Nintendo Switch owner, you should note that Revelations 2 will only be available as a digital title, even if you purchase the physical combo pack. Though its file size hasn’t been shared yet, keep an eye on your Switch’s storage and maybe opt for a new microSD card if those digital downloads are piling up too quickly.

Resident Evil: Revelations 2 is already available on PS4 and Xbox One, with Revelations 1 hitting those platforms August 29th. Stay tuned for more details on the Switch versions of these survival horror titles.

Mischa grew up with video games and still has a deep love for many - especially fun, colorful RPGs. Some of her favorites include Pokémon, Animal Crossing, Pikmin, Fantasy Life, Kingdom Hearts, Skyrim, Civilization V, and Stardew Valley. She loves nights in with her boyfriend cooking Mexican food, watching Studio Ghibli movies, and going head-to-head in their favorite games. Mischa might not beat you in Super Smash Bros, but she owns a replica of Arwen’s sword and Hermione’s wand, so... don’t rub it in too much.
