Ten New Xbox One Backwards Compatibility Games Added This Week

You can now play Mega Man and Battlefield 360 games on your Xbox One!

In December, Xbox executive Phil Spencer teased that “January looks pretty good for [backwards compatibility].” He didn’t give any specifics at the time, but we now have ten new additions to the catalog. Seven games hit Tuesday the 10th, and three more were added today.

The Xbox 360 games Strania, The Splatters, Scrap Metal, Ghostbusters, Dragon Age: Origins, Battlefield: Bad Company 2, and Battlefield 3 were added to the Xbox One backwards compatibility program Tuesday.

Today, Mega Man 9, Mega Man 10, and Beat’n Groovy were made available.

If you already own these games for Xbox 360, they should automatically show up in your Xbox One library. If you’re looking to buy, you can do so on Xbox One or at the Xbox site links below.

The Xbox One backwards compatibility program, which launched in late 2015, has over 300 Xbox 360 titles in its library. These include best-sellers like the Bioshock series, Mass Effect 2 and 3Red Dead Redemption, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, and Call of Duty: Black Ops.

The backwards compatibility service is available to all Xbox One owners for no additional cost. It includes both disc-based and digital titles. It’s a great opportunity for One players to access fan-favorite 360 games for free–Well, except for the cost of the game.

You can view the full list of backwards compatible games here.

Expect more games to come to the Xbox One’s 360 library throughout the year. What 360 games are you dying to play on the Xbox One? Let us know in the comments!

Mischa McGill

Mischa grew up with video games and still has a deep love for many - especially fun, colorful RPGs. Some of her favorites include Pokémon, Animal Crossing, Pikmin, Fantasy Life, Kingdom Hearts, Skyrim, Civilization V, and Stardew Valley. She loves nights in with her boyfriend cooking Mexican food, watching Studio Ghibli movies, and going head-to-head in their favorite games. Mischa might not beat you in Super Smash Bros, but she owns a replica of Arwen’s sword and Hermione’s wand, so... don’t rub it in too much.
